About Kevin Maher and Beyond the Score

Kevin Maher is an award winning choreographer and creative director whose work has shaped stages around the world. With a career spanning major artists, global tours, and high level creative projects, Kevin is known for his ability to bring out the best in performers through clarity, storytelling, and musicality. But his passion for coaching runs even deeper.

For more than twenty years, Kevin has taught and judged at some of the most respected dance conventions in the country, including The Hollywood Vibe and Monsters of Hip Hop. In that time, he watched thousands of routines and gave just as many notes from behind the judges’ table. As valuable as that in-the-moment feedback is, he began to see a gap that studios rarely get to fill: the need for deeper, more focused critique that dancers can apply long before they walk onto a competition stage.

Beyond the Score was created to fill that gap. Instead of talking over music in a crowded ballroom, Kevin takes the time to watch each routine with his full attention, offering thoughtful, unbiased guidance based on decades of experience.
